Observed each year in June, National Safety Month “focuses on reducing leading causes of injury and death at work, on the road and in our homes and communities.” Employing nearly 7,000 associates across the globe and with a presence of more than 40 manufacturing plants internationally, Milliken keenly understands how safety forms the foundation of our work across our divisions. Our legacy in safety, championed from the beginning by the highest levels of leadership, is more than just a protocol — it is a means of protecting our associates to ensure the well-being of our entire community.

Clemson University’s Office of Inclusion and Equity hosted more than 2,000 high school and college students, business professionals, educators, government officials, and community leaders for the second annual Men of Color National Summit in April.

How we achieve success is as important as the success we achieve. A long-held core value of Milliken, ethical behavior is the foundation of our success in business, and furthermore, the expectation of every Milliken associate. We find ethical behavior sets us on a course we can be proud of and proves to be an ultimate differentiator in today’s global marketplace. 

This month marks the 48^th anniversary of Earth Day, celebrated around the world on Sunday, April 22. Established in the 1970s when citizens drew attention to a healthy, sustainable environment, Earth Day has grown to highlight environmental and clean energy efforts.

Over the last several months, we have found inspiration in exploring Milliken through your unique perspective. Everyone, from associates to partners to visitors, is encouraged to share their Milliken moments by using our Discover Milliken hashtag, and those interactions come together to illustrate the anthology of the Milliken experience.

This March, Milliken & Company welcomed nearly 20 children to our Spartanburg, South Carolina, global headquarters to participate in Bon Appétit Management Company’s Healthy Kids in the Bon Appétit Kitchen program.

Sparked by Milliken Gives, our associates continue to inspire us with their generous and impactful actions within their respective communities. Each of our global facilities organizes volunteer opportunities, and supplies and donation drives to benefit local organizations of their choice. By encouraging our associates to give back in the ways most meaningful to them, we see countless deeds for the betterment of the communities in which we call home.
