“We make a living by what we get, we make a life by what we give.” – Winston Churchill

We appreciate Mr. Churchill’s words as we believe there is more to life than what we get. Our commitment to ‘do good’ echoes this idea as we challenge ourselves each day to consider the impact of every choice we make. From thoughtful innovations to sustainable manufacturing to supporting our local communities, Milliken associates are committed in many ways to this integral core value.

Recently, Milliken Gives, a new initiative to create a legacy of support and engagement within the various global communities that Milliken calls home, was put into place to emphasize this value. Milliken Gives looks to foster the already-present Milliken spirit of giving in three ways: by enabling each manufacturing facility to support a chosen nonprofit with a gift from the Milliken Foundation, establishing a Volunteer Participation System to encourage community service, and hosting a corporate headquarters giving campaign.

We are pleased to announce that associates who work at our corporate headquarters in Spartanburg, S.C. reaffirmed the Milliken spirit of giving by contributing more than $325,000 to United Way of the Piedmont.

So far this year, associates from across our company have created local school supply drives, served meals, and engaged in ways most meaningful to them to create more opportunities for where we live and work.

“I am humbled by the meaningful generosity of our associates as we strive to impact the future for generations to come,” shares J. Harold Chandler, CEO, President, and Chairman of the Board of Milliken & Company.

At the heart of the program, Milliken Gives encourages all our associates to participate in the way that best connects with them personally. This gift to the United Way of the Piedmont is one such example, and we look forward to what we accomplish together in the future.
