Every summer, we invite students to join our team and participate in a comprehensive internship experience across a variety of Milliken divisions. Through the program, Milliken gives students the opportunity to apply their classroom knowledge, hone communication skills, solve problems, execute on projects, and collaborate in a team environment. 

Walk into a five-star restaurant, or any restaurant for that matter, and you start formulating opinions about the quality, the menu, the experience—almost instantaneously. Before you sit down or take a single bite, you've most likely decided if you'll return to this spot again. The lighting, table settings, music, decor, and the linens (yes, the linens) all play key roles in shaping our restaurant experience.

For four consecutive years, Milliken technologies have been honored with R&D 100 Awards as some of the most technologically significant of their time. Coined the “Oscars of Invention,” the awards program has recognized revolutionary technologies since 1963.

For 14 years, Holly Nguyen has designed commercial floor covering solutions for Milliken. Recently, she gave us insight into her creative process and advice for aspiring textile designers.

Open flames and exposure to pyrophoric chemicals put laboratory workers in high-risk situations, and their handling of toxic, corrosive or flammable liquids is routine. These dangers were highlighted in 2008 after a tragic laboratory accident at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) took the life of an undergraduate research assistant. The tragedy prompted the industry to pay more attention to laboratory safety and the use of appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).

By 2030, more than 9.6 million people will call London home - a staggering growth of 1 million people in only 15 years. New York City is currently experiencing the highest population growth since the 1920s, and from 2000 to 2012, both Raleigh, North Carolina, and Austin, Texas, grew more than 40 percent. 

As populations boom in urban and city environments, the existing bandwidth in these areas to accommodate communication and power systems is incredibly strained. Milliken Infrastructure found a revolutionary solution.

On March 17, Milliken celebrated with the South Carolina Governor’s School for Science and Mathematics (GSSM) at the school’s 24^th annual Townes Toast with a Twist event.
