Summer Intern Challenge Offers Meaningful Experiences

Immersing yourself in the working world before college graduation is an opportunity to say the least – an opportunity to network with company leaders, to gain real-world experience for your resume, and to define your career path and interests more clearly.

For more than 50 years, interns have walked through the doors at Milliken, whether at our global headquarters in Spartanburg, South Carolina, or at one of our manufacturing plants. Many of them have never left. In fact, our expertise in diverse disciplines enables our associates to lead exciting careers that have the opportunity to cross a multitude of industries, all within one company.

We use our Summer Intern Challenge to get to know students who show the potential to join Milliken after graduation. The 10-week program affords incredible hands-on experience for interns with various facets of industry.

Our approach to internships is very strategic: We task interns with a defined project scope that addresses a key business need. This allows interns to truly contribute from day one on a meaningful goal at Milliken, from process improvement to business initiatives. Each intern works directly with a Milliken sponsor, who mentors them as they make progress on their projects with checkpoints, feedback and a support network for guidance.

Careers should be meaningful, and internships should give meaningful insight into them.

If you’re interested in interning at Milliken during summer 2017, say hello to us at one of the college career fairs we attend in the fall. Or, if your school isn’t on the roster, apply online through our careers webpage.
