The striking Southern Magnolia, with its large dark green leaves and fragrant white flowers, was first planted in the 600-acre Milliken Arboretum during the 1970s. Today, its southern roots remain strong at our campus headquarters, as do the innovations that evolved at Milliken during that time. 

‘Experience’ can be defined as an event or occurrence that leaves an impression on someone. At Milliken, we prioritize the customer experience — building relationships with partners in a myriad of industries and helping them accomplish their goals through our technologies. Milliken has a diverse team of associates dedicated to supporting our customers across the globe. With multifaceted roles that are both customer-facing and behind the scenes, we are honored to highlight two of these associates with a deep connection of their own.

The adaptable Water Oak, with its distinctive lobe leaf tips and rough ridges, was originally planted at the Milliken Arboretum during the 1960s. Today, it serves as a reminder of a decade of global development. Its roots were taking shape while Milliken began to expand our own roots around the world. As the Water Oak continues to stand strong, you will now find Milliken challenging industry boundaries across the Americas, Europe and Asia Pacific regions — striving to make a global impact through the latest innovations, research and sustainability efforts.

Every August serves as a reminder that students are heading back to the classroom. As we gear up for back-to-school this year, we reflect on the foundational importance of education in building for the future. Many community organizations are dedicated to educational growth and success, and at Milliken, we have long been inspired by their work, particularly those in our global home of Spartanburg County. 

Peach trees have a rich history in South Carolina. The official state fruit, peaches have enriched the Palmetto State economy since the early 1700s. They are also of significant meaning to Milliken, a reminder of how our company has grown and evolved.

Across a breadth of industries, we look to redefine how we protect ourselves and others, how we care for the environment, and how we infuse vibrancy and color into our surroundings.

The landscape at Milliken is at once steadfast and ever-changing. Our core strengths are firmly planted, and as such, allow us to branch out into new and exciting horizons. Throughout Milliken’s 153 years, we have embraced change as part of our global company culture.

During the 2018 NeoCon commercial design show, one of Milliken floor covering’s latest innovative introductions, Textured Sky, was honored with a prestigious Best of NeoCon Editor’s Choice award presented by Contract magazine. Designed by Katelyn Campbell — soon to celebrate eight years with Milliken — the collection also was named an Interior Design magazine HiP Award finalist in the workplace carpet flooring category.
